A New House

Every once in a while we take a little drive around Hib-town just to "make sure" there isn't a house for sale that we've been missing. Maybe by some miracle God would tell someone to move out of their lovely house and put it up for sale at a price that we could afford. Well... We drive around (basically coveting other peoples' houses) saying "Oooh that one would be nice." or "Why doesn't that one go for sale?" or something similar. Anyways... in one of our drives of desperation, we saw the perfect house. It was beautiful...and perfect (and a little out of reality for us, but dreaming is ok. Right?). Only one problem (well maybe only one...): it wasn't for sale.

And then yesterday..... It came up for sale! Rob called me with excitement in his voice. When I asked him how much it costs, he hesitated to tell me... instead telling me, "We're gonna buy it!" Yeah right.... $315, 000. Has anybody won the lottery lately that has a couple hundred thousand we can have? You see, it's hard for us to win when we never buy tickets... And you also understand that we are homeless and are in desperate need for a home.

Oh well, I guess no new house for Christmas.

The search continues!

My New "Friend"

I have a new friend. Well, a not so friendly "friend." The doctor calls my friend "Scarletina." We were introduced on Friday (well, with formal names anyway). I actually became acquinted with "Scarlet" on Thursday night. You see, Scarletina comes from a not-so-friendly old friend of mine named Streptococcus. He's not so nice either. As a matter of fact, he gave me Rheumatic Fever in Guatemala. As you can tell, I'm not so fond of this "Strep" guy, but he sure likes me!
As you can also tell, I'm stuck home...bored and sick of being sick. Somewhat of a complainer, and I guess I just needed someone to share my sob story with. Thanks for listening.
No offense, but I hope that you never have to meet this "Strep" guy or this "Scarletina" either! Stay warm, drink lots of fluids, and get lots of rest (and stay away from sick people!!).
